“Everybody fears the unknown and I guess merit pay is an unknown,” remarked board member Newbill Miller. He agreed with chairman Beverly Massie’s suggestion that action on Eastham’s resolution be tabled until the November board meeting.
“Mr. Eastham’s given this a great deal of thought and I’d like to do the same...In concept, I like- the idea,” Miller said.
Responding to comments from his fellow board members, Eastham withdrew his merit pay resolution for consideration at the November meeting.
