In the national election last year, many felt that the results showed the winds of change sweeping the country, blowing Republicans into office from the US president down to state legislators. But the effects of this change remain to be seen, and in the meantime, wtftt Virginia needs is Strong leadership from someone who is not willing to accept national Republican platforms just because those policies are Republican.
Democratic candidate for governor Charles S. Robb is just such a man.
Mr. Robb freely admits that he supports—in theory—Reagan tax cut measures, attempts to reduce federal spending and balance the budget. But he does not support wholeheartedly the entire package of proposals—he prefers to support only those policies which are best for Virginia.
