Sperryville resident Rhonda Dawn Foster was the recipient of the Outstanding Freshman Award for Kappa Omicron Phi on Student Recognition Day at Shepherd College, April 22. Kappa Omicron Phi is the home economics society at Shepherd.
Student Recognition Day is an annual spring event at Shepherd designed to honor those students who have excelled in their particular academic field or organization, or have achieved special recognition in an athletic pursuit.
Foster was also named to the Dean’s list last fall. In order to achieve this honor, a student must maintain a 3.2 grade point average and carry at least 15 hours of course work or be in a professional teaching block.
A 1981 graduate of Rappahannock County High School, Foster is a home economics major-psychology minor at Shepherd. She is the daughter of Guy and Carol Foster of Sperryville.
