The Stewards Perform
The Rappahannock United Methodist Churches are hosting a gospel singing quartet. The Stewards, on Wednesday, June 9, at Willis Chapel Church in Huntly. The Stewards are well known in the community. They have made two albums and will be “on the road” this summer performing all over the country. The evening will begin at 6:30 with a covered dish supper followed by the musical program at 7:30. The public is welcome.
NAACP Meeting
The Rappahannock NAACP Branch will meet Friday, May 28, at 7:30 p.m. at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Hint Hill. All members and interested persons are urged to attend.
Spring Festival Offers
Arts, Crafts And Music
The third annual Spring Festival1 of Arts, Crafts and Music sponsored by the Swinging Bridge Pottery of Criglersville will be held May 29-30 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. each day.
Admission and parking are free for viewing the work of over 50 exhibitors in basketry, dolls, drawings, herbs, jewelry, lapidary, blown glass, leather, ornaments, paintings, photography, pottery, quilting, weaving, woodwork, and wreathes.
Fresh home-made pit-fired barbeque will be served by “Hambone” Hampton of Piedmont Foods, Pennsylvania funnel cakes will be prepared by Sweet Tooth, and wines will be offered by the Shenandoah Vineyards. There will be free blood pressure checks by Carol Robinson, L.P.N., and free therapeutic massages by Sally Nash.
An all-day program of live music has been scheduled, featuring blue grass, traditional country, folk, and gospel music. Some open mike time is available for musicians not already registered.
