The form that The Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community is to take was the topic of discussion at the RAAC Board meeting held Monday night. May 17, at the Washington Baptist Church Mrs. Joy Luke chaired the second board meeting for this newly formed organization.
The purpose that the organization is to serve was among one of the main issues covered. The consensus that was reached was that the center should promote arts by serving the community and their “artistical” interests as well as finding a place where these functions can occur.
Another topic up for • discussion was that of bylaws, incorporation (as a nonprofit organization) and constitution. No agreement was reached about the laws to be enacted nor was there a decision as to who would chair this committee. The
next meeting will be devoted j mainly to discussing the laws and ottering changes. A plan will also be offered as to who will work on this committee and how the committee is to be formed.
