RAPPAHANNOCK NEWS

THE Rappahannock

County Public School

system adopted a plan for enrollment of elementary school children for the 1967-68 session. Under this plan, children who previously attended the small, two-room schools were assigned, on a geographic basis, to the Sperry ville and Washington Elementary Schools.

A Girl Scout Troop was organized in Rappahannock under Mrs. Lou Raney. The troop included four patrols: Amissville, Flint Hill, Washington and Sperryville. The investiture ceremony for the newly established troop 380 was held at the Parish Hall in Washington where the girls were given their Girl Scout pins as well as their World Association pins.
