The bride is (he daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Eugene Ballard of Lisbon, Portugal. Parents of the groom are Mrs. Rose P. Torre and Mr. Rosario G. Torre of Baltimore, Maryland. Both the bride and groom are former residents of Rappahannock County.
The Rev. Guthrie Brown performed the double ring ceremony in a natural ampatheater bordered by boxwood hedges and dogwood trees.
Given in marriage by her mother and father, the bride wore a three tiered mid-calf gown of white lace with a high collar and full sleeves. As she walked to the outdoor altar to the music of flutes, she carried a floral cascade of gladiolas, daisies, peonies and roses.
Barbara Ballard Kruetzer of Bethesda, Ohio, was matron of honor for her sister. Bridesmaids we're Miss Michelle Huestis of Middleburg and Mrs. Kay Cardone and Mrs. Daphne Hutchinson, both of Rappahannock. The attendants wore high-collared white lace blouses, midcalf mauve skirts of taffeta and picture hats and carried miniature replicas of the bride's bouquets.
Felix Averill of Annapolis, Maryland, was best man. Ushers were David Kruetzer of Bethesda, Ohio, and Francis W. Hutchinson and Joseph Carbone, both of Rappahannock.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Blandy with music provided by The Mystery Band.
The bride is a student at Lord Fairfax Community College and is employed by The Purcellville Inn. The groom is employed by the Red Fox Inn in Middleburg.
After a honeymoon at Waves, North Carolina, the couple will reside in Clarke County.
