without radio, TV, or electronic games; and, lastly, if more grimly, did their duty in all the wars of our State and Nation and did it gallantly, despite their natural shock on encountering. the gore and the cannon’s roar, being farm boys accustomed only to the sweet pleasures of a peaceful countryside.
This book will be a basic source of information on Rappahannock County for those of us who love this land and for future scholars and historians. While the authors have cautioned at the beginning of the book that it is not to be considered a "textbook”, our county school children would surely
