Local people have a choice. They can volunteer their time to help keep the cemetery maintained properly and in that way, assist in holding costs at the current low level. Without that volunteer effort, costs must either rise or upkeep must deteriorate.
The Masonic Cemetery is a community cemetery. We join with the Masons in urging that its maintenance be a community project. Anyone with a few free hours needs only donate that time to clearing the brush from a section of fence row to make the community endeavor a success. The cemetery is always open and help is always welcome.
In the same spirit of community cooperation, the Masons ask that families refrain from placing artificial flowers on graves from now through October loth. The wires from the flowers become tangled in riiower blades and make cutting the grass a difficult if not impossible task.
If we all help, we can keep the Masonic cemetery a beautiful and dignified place for loved ones to take their final rest.
