J.W. CRITZER was appointed sheriff of Rappahannock County at the circuit court session held by Judge J.R.H. Alexander, to fill the unexpired term of former sheriff J ames M. Lillard who died May 14, 1950. About 80 persons visited five homes and gardens on the Home and Garden tour, sponsored by the Rappahannock Garden Club. This was the first tour of its kind ever held in the county. 20 YEARS AGO RAPPAHANNOCK NEWS
Reservations were made for the two-day trip to Wilmington, Del., sponsored by the local Home Demonstration Clubs. The group traveled by bus and the combined cost of the trip was $25. The Rappahannock County High School held its prom May 19. 1962. The dance was well attended and afterwards there was a party. Mrs. Downing Wood gave the after-dance party at the Woods’ home for her daughters, Nancy and Alice. Some 85 young people were present.
