To the editor:
I believe it was Tuesday, August 30, 1 was driving home from my seven-day-aweek job where one-third of what I earn goes to federal and state taxes. I drove by our understaffed and overcrowded high school, by under-nourished people without proper health care, onto the final stretch of my 100-mile-a-day journey, the washboard road which has remained virtually unchanged for 100 years. I accept all of this as “life in the country,” that is. until I drove up my mile-lone driveway to find a helicopter circling my house in search of marijuana. Where were they during the big snow when I ran out of beer?
As a professional pilot, I’m aware that helicopters are costly to operate. I wonder how much better off our county will be with 200 less marijuana plants. I think the money might be better spent in front of local drinking establishments giving breathalizer tests, in that there have been many more
