Rappahannock’s varsity girls were overwhelmed, 3948, in their contest against the Page Panthers last Thursday.
Although Rappahannock’s Panthers controlled the opening tip, they failed to capitalize on their first possession. Page drew first blood in a contest that "Was one-sided from the starting buzzer. It was not until well into the first quarter that Rappahannock finally flashed onto the score board with two from Connie Compton.
But the stage was already set for a Page victory. The visitors had established a lead they would not relinquish throughout the course of the game. At the end of the first quarter, the tally was ten to six in Page’s favor. Rapp’s old rivals from the Skyline District increased the margin to 25-13 at the half.
