After the smashing success of last summer’s one week pilot program, the Northern Virginia 4-H Center at Harmony Hollow will open its facilities to Rappahannock youngsters for a summer long cooperative day camp in 1984.
According to organizer Pali Delevitt Allan, the camp will run from June 17 through August 8. “It will mean jobs for teenagers and a place for Rappahannock kids to go and do everything—swimming, tennis, canoeing, crafts, hiking,” Allan said.
But everything costs money and the summer cooperative day camp carries a price tag of $8,000. To raise money for the youth program, Allan is planning to stage a benefit performance of the musical “Oliver” in conjunction with the Rappahannock Players this spring. Coming up sooner is an antique and vintage clothing fashion show and sale set for October 27.
