Even down by a sizeable margin of 12 at the beginning of the second half, Rappahannock refused to say die. Time and time again, the Lady Panthers rallied to cut the gap only to see it widened again by the visitors. At the end of a see-saw third period, it was Page 33, Rapp 20.
The home Panthers shot well, better than Page from the tree throw line, hitting nine of 17 to Page’s six of 21. But the girls from Rappahannock were felled by due too many turnovers caused by bad passing, careless mistakes that led to traveling violations and fouls plus an excellent defensive effort by Page.
Natalie Butler was second high scorer for the home team with nine points followed by Melissa Turner with seven, Connie Compton with six. Guards Kim Settle and Donna Atkins added two each.
