She also plans to devote time to painting and drawing but with her new part time position as director for the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community, she's already wondering where she'll find the extra hours in the week for everything. "I couldn’t do any of this without Rex," Marshall said of her husband, Rex Morgan Slack, also an artist. "Whenever I come across a difficult problem to solve, he always has useful ideas." And he helps with parenting responsibilities for an inquisitive-, bouncy, smiling and energetic toddler, the couple's son, Jeremy.
At .'t.'t, Marshall finds that she came late to a career in art. Maybe that’s what makes her perspective a little different. She doesn’t believe that a private Muse is spurring her to creativity. “1 realize that each of us has art in us. Just like each of us has Cod inside. Just like each of us has something unique and important to say."
