The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Stanley Gilkey, III of Chester Gap. The bridegroom is the ten 'of' 'Mr1." and Mrt. Fred Thomas Settle of Sperryville.
The Rev. William Alford performed the ceremony.
The bride wore a tissue taffeta dress accented with venise and schifili lace. Her bodice was fitted with venise appliques, and her neckline was high with a yoke of schifili lace. Her sleeves were short and puffed, and her white, cathedral-length skirt was plain with rows of lace around the bottom and train. Her waist-length veil was a Juliet cap with sequins and seed pearls. The bride carried a boquet of silk pink carnations, pink lilies and baby’s breath with pink and maroon satin ribbons.
Kim Burke, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a maroon satin dress with a ruffled neckline, puffed sleeves and a sash at the wait. She carried a basket of silk pink carnations, lilies and baby’s breath with pink and maroon satin ribbons.
Bridesmaids were Sherry Gilkey, sister-in-law of the bride; Norma Fritts, Cindy Derflinger and Kay Settle, sister of the groom. All wore matching pink taffeta gowns with ruffled necklines, {Miffed threequarter length sleeves, ruffled hemlines and maroon satin sashes. Ther flowers were similiar to those of the honor attendant.
Fred Settle was best man for his son.
