Advertisers Cowed
A recent Wall Street Journal reported that a farmer outside Toronto is renting space on the side of his cows. Two-foot by threefoot pieces of oil cloth announce the messages. For a few bucks more, the advertiser can rent a cowbell.
“We wanted to maximize our cow investment,” said Frazier Mohawk. After selling dairy products and manure, “the only thing we hadn’t found a use for was the outside of the cow. The farm calls its billboards “mediacows.”
