Recipes will be judged by VDACS home economists and other food professionals. The recipe criteria are: good use of dairy produces); taste; originality; listing of ingredients (size of can, box) in order used and their availability; ease of preparation: and clarity of instructions.
Recipes must be received by June 1, 1984. Mail entries to “MILK,” VDACS, P.O. Box 1163, Richmond, VA 23209. Food professionals are ineligible to compete.
Safety For Babies
If you bottle feed your baby, don’t forget to boil the rubber nipple first. New rubber nipples and pacifiers may contain the cancerrelated substance nitrosamine.
The food and drug ad- i ministration advises parents to reduce nitrosamine levels by boiling nipples and pacifiers five or six times before initial use, changing the water after each boil.
