Dancer/Flulist To Visit

Philip Saltonstall Rosemond, a principal with the Cincinnati Ballet, will be at the Middle Street Gallery in Washington on Monday, May 28 from 4-7 p.m. to meet with aspiring dancers and flutists, or others interested in dance, musical theater or opera. The visit is sponsored by RAAC, and offered at no charge to the public.

Basketweaving Workshop

Janet Kerig, a local crafts person who is often featured at Glen Echo and whose works have appeared at the Design Center in Washington, D.C. and the Smithsonian Folklife Festival, is offering a one-day workshop making a melon basket of wild grapevine and reeds. The session will be devoted to completing a basket.

The workshop will be presented at the Rappahannock Recreation Center in two sections— on May 26 for adults and on June 23 for children—and will run from 9:30 to 5:30 on each day. The cost will be $40, and pre-registration is required. All participants should bring a lunch.

Conway Class To Begin

Betty Jenkins of Sperryville is planning a Conway diet class at the Sperrvyille fire hall beginning on Wednesday, June 6 at 10 a.m. Anyone interested in joining should contact Betty at 987-8938.

Hospital Golf Oassic Announced

The fourth annual Loudoun Memorial Hospital Golf Classic and dinner has been set for Friday, July 27, in Leesburg. The golf tournament will begin at 7 a.m. at the Sigwick Inn t Golf Club and will be followed by a reception and dinner at Morven Park beginning at 7 p.m.

Proceeds from the tournament and dinner will benefit the hospital’s Long-Term Care Unit.

A reception and dinner is planned at Morven Park, home of former governor Westmoreland Davis. Tickets for the evening gala cost $30 per person.
