Truman G. Keesey of Washington, Va., was asked on Friday, October 26 to advise the Board of the International Student House (ISH) in Washington, D.C. on public relations for the house’s upcoming 50th anniversary.
Keesey was asked to act as advisor by James Wilson, president of the board of directors of the ISH, Louise Armstrong, a board member, and Paul Feys, ISH director. The 50th anniversary for the house will take place in September of 1986.
The ISH was founded in 1936 in Washington, D.C. by the American Friends Service Committee, a Quaker organixation. In 1962, the house became a non-profit corporation managed by a board of directors consisting of interested Washington citizens.
The house can accommodate 60 men and women students, and its goal is to have an internationally mixed student body. This year there are students from 29 different countries living in the house. The number of American students allowed to live in the house is
