Members and guests of the field then circled ceremoniously twice before departing for Fielding Mountain and beyond to begin the hunt.
The hunt spanned three hours and some 30 miles. Two dry runs occurred during which no fox was sighted; a third run near Mason Mountain kicked up a fox, however. Pursuit ended when the fox lost the hounds along a long rock ledge on the property of J.W. Fletcher.
