The team scores in the meet were Strasburg, 40; Rappahannock, 50; Stonewall Jackson, 56; George Mason, 100; Clarke County, 126; Brentsville, 132; and Manassas Park, 201.
Three Rappahannock runners from the boys’ team received medals. Ronnie Atkins received a medal for placing third in the meet, Jonathan Watson won a tnedal for seventh place, and Ricky Shaw placed eighth to receive his medal.
This year the girls also competed for medals, and three Rappahannock girls won medals. Karen Ludwick came in fourth to receive her medal, Denice Eidson placed eighth for her medal, and Leslie Nichols received a medal for coming in 15. “The girls did very well for their first year on this competition level against other girls,” Spieker said.
A regional meet for the boys will be held on November 1 at Piedmont Community College in Charlottesville.
