Keesey was the director of public relations for the first World Conference of Local Governments in 1961. For his work and the work of his staff, the District of Columbia received the much coveted “People to People” citation from the National League of Cities.
“We will be dealing with all news media with a particular emphasis on television and radio networks for the 50th anniversary,” said Keesey. “Right now we’re in the planning stages, and definite plans have not been made.”
Keesey is also involved in an effort to begin an ISH alumni association. “On the basis of the people who have lived in the house over the years or have worked with the organization, we are trying to organize an alumni association,” Keesey said. “The first step will be to contact some people, and we will be trying to get a good age representation.”
