Rappahannock News PtnftVJane Bangley A group of about 30 people hiked their way through Rappahannock on the way to Washington, D.C. last week. The “Walk for the Earth” began on April 1 at Point Reyes National Seashore about 30 miles north of San Francisco. “The purpose of the walk is to stop and talk to people along the way about*ecological sanity, peace, what people think about the earth, and about the possibility of a nuclear war,” said Water Sadauskas. There were people in the group from age 18 to 66. Pictured are (1-r), Joe Schetter, Water Sadauskas, Leslie Goodwoman, John Montrose, Hal Brill, and Andria Raffel. Raffel is holding a human rights staff given to the group by native Americans who are trying to practice their religion in prison.
