The Wakefield Owls captured both the regular season and tournament titles of the newly formed Delaney Athletic Conference last Saturday with wins over Emmanuel and Seton Schools.
This was the first season of the conference which was formed last year by Pete Westhoff, the athletic director of Seton School Tlie Owls were seeded first in the conference, and their wins Saturday ended the varsity soccer season with a 10-2-1 record overall and 6-0 record within the league.
The tournament took place at the Parkside School in Manassas. In the semi-finals, Wakefield played Emmanuel and Seton took on Word of Life School. The Owls cruised to an easy 8-0 victory in their first contest with a pressuring offense and defense over a weaker Emmanuel team. Seton also had an easy time with Word of Life in the semi-final match.
