Fodderstack

Fever

The big day is almost here. Starting time for the annual Fodderstack 10KM Classic will be 10:00 a.m. this Saturday, April 20.

About 150 runners have pre-registered. “That’s as many as we’ve ever had by this time,” said former race chairman Diane Bruce. Most runners, however, register on the day of the race. Bruce said over 350 people registered last year and, of those, about 300 actually ran.

Much is planned for Fodderstack day, and night. The Appalachian jazz string band, Trapezoid, will perform Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. in the Gay Street Theater. The band has recently moved its base to Rappahannock and Saturday night’s performance will be Trapezoid’s first in the county. The concert is sponsored by the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community (RAAC).
