Peach/Grape Guide The 1985 Peach/Grape Guide is now being prepared. There is a $25 fee for listing in the combined guide and checks are to be payable to “Treasurer of Virginia. ” Forms for placing advertisements are available in the Extension office and must be returned no later than April 24.
High School Spring Concert And Art Show The Rappahannock High School chorus and art class will present their joint spring concert and art show Tuesday, April 30 at 8:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Admission is free. Benefit Horse Show The Sixth Annual Culpeper Memorial Hospital Benefit Horse Show will be held on May 19 at 8:30 a.m. at Meander Farm in Locust Dale, Va. The local show will have eight hunter divisions including jpbort stirrups, Western classes, an open class, a costume class and a#Jack Benny class for adult riders. Farmers and Artisans9 Market There will be a Farmers and Artisans’ Market in’ Front Royal this summer. Featured will be baked goods, produce, and arts and crafts. For more information, contact the Warren County Extension Office at 635-4549.
6A Spring Music Festival’ The Front Royal Oratorio Society presents “A Spring Music Festival” on Sunday, April 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the Front Royal Presbyterian Church, 117 Luray Avenue. Featured works include “Testament of Freedom” by Randall Thompson, which is based on four passages from the writings of Thomas Jefferson. Mr. Thompson wrote and dedicated this work to the University of Virginia Glee Club in memory of the Father of the University. Other presentations are “Crucifixus” by Bach; “Hear my Prayer” by Mendelsohn; “Hallelujah Chorus” by Handel and “Come, Christian, Come” by chorus conductor Glen Carow. Guest conductor will be Roland Cumberland and guest soloist, Sally Long. Beverly Clark is the accompanist.
The approximately 50-member chorus is made up of singers from the surrounding counties. The program is free to the public.
