M. H. Bradford Jr., who
served as secretary and parade chairman for Flint Hill Fire Department for nine of the 17 years of its existence, was awarded a plaque in recognition of his dedicated service. The presentation was made by fire company head, H. S. Barksdale at the annual firemen’s banquet held last Wednesday.

Jackie Estes of Washington, a
part time student at Piedmont Vocational School, won second place in the state electrical contest held Saturday in Richmond, after placing first in area competition. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Estes and was awarded a certificate of merit and the medallion which will be kept at the school.
