Keep next weekend open. That’s when Sperryville holds its long awaited country festival. The official dates are May 25 and 26. Everything and everybody will be there.

That weekend Martin and Cherry Woodard, proprietors of Faith Mountain Herbs & Antiques, will host the second annual Faith Mountain Country Fare-an open house and festival of American crafts. Events will take place both Saturday and Sunday from J 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m., rain or shine.

The festival will indude at least twenty-five crafts people from Virginia and surrounding states, all of whom will demonstrate their craft, such as basket making, glassblowing, woodworking; stenciling, candlewicking, weaving and doll making. There will be a live string band, bake sales (by the Sperryville Ladies Auxiliary and the Small Farmers Market), horse and buggy rides, vegetable and flower pots, hanging baskets and Virginia wines, in addition to the full assortment of herbs and antiques found at Faith Mountain.
