Archie Rutherford

Archie Lee Rutherford, age 71, of Boston died on Sunday, May 12 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
A native of Rappahannock County, Mr. Rutherford had lived in Culpeper for many years. He was a retired contractor.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mattie Wince Rutherford of Boston; four daughters, Mrs. Alice Bowman of Culpeper, Mrs. Ann Carpenter and Mrs. Emma Jenkins, both of Reva and Mrs. Mary Wood of Spotsylvania; three sons, John M. Rutherford of Vancouver, Washington, Archie Eugene Rutherford and David Ronald Rutherford, both of Culpeper; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Additional survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Ella Mae Atkins of Front Royal and Mrs. Susie Frye of Woodstock and three brothers, Haywood Rutherford and Harry Rutherford, both of Amissville and Charlie Rutherford of Sperryville.
A son, Thurman Lee Rutherford, predeceased in 1962.
Funeral services were held at the Clore Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday by the Rev. Jerry Hughes. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
