brook said. “There is never any indication in the polls of a lack of support for public education, yet spring after spring we have this agonizing at budget time.” Estabrook said that as long as public schools receive most of their money from real estate taxes, the problems will continue.
“We need to have a more equitable means of revenue with greater growth potential,” Estabrook said. Board chairman Beverly Massie encouraged the members and others interested in public education to inform their representatives of their concern for educational funding.

At the beginning of the meeting, the board was updated on the state of computer education in the elementary school by the assistand principal, Michael Cotter and by teachers and students.
