Mr. Guest supported the resolution favoring local option in the election of school board members, which was unanimously passed by the 31st District convention, and a similar stand on initiative and referendum amendments to the state constitution, also unanimously passed.
The convention also was united in calling for sound fiscal policies at the national level, while Mr. Guest warned that local and state taxes must continue to form a legitimate deduction from federal income tax if citizens are expected to pick up the tab for social programs axed in economy moves at the national level.
