This month 31 permits haye been given out by the county as opposed to 17 issued last year (May 1985) at this time.
Hopeful indicators, however modest, also appear in the use of utilities by county residents and visitors. The county portion of the total utility tax, which increases or decreases according to actual usage, increased from $153,021 as of May ^0, 1985, to $169,556 as of May 23 this year.
