Kappahannock Girl scouts enjoyed a campout at Camp Friendship near Palmyra last weekend as another successful year nears its end.
Fifty-one girls and their leaders had a chance to try the camp’s ropes course, use the waterfront, and try the trampolines. Fifteen Brownies flew up to Junior Girl Scouts and one Junior bridged to Cadette Girl Scouts at the ceremony that traditionally highlights the Girl Scout May Madness campout.
During the past school year Rappahannock has had three active Brownie troops, a Junior troop, a Cadette troop and a Senior troop.
Brownie Troop 909, made up mostly of first-grade Brownies, took a trip to Washington, D.C. There the girls got a chance to ride the subway and visit the zoo. They also had a picnic at the zoo.
Brownie Troop 955 visited the Patriot Center for the exhibition of the Lipizanner Stallions. Before going the girls had a visit with a native Austrian who talked with them
