Volleyball for all Monday, June 2, is slated as the first evening of All-Commers volleyball at the Recreation Center, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Anyone interested in volleyball is invited to attend — all ages and abilities are welcome. For more information contact Carol Kundt at 675-3123. Lions Club auction The Lions Club will hold an auction on May 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the Washington fire hall. If anyone has anything to donate (except food or clothes) and needs it picked up call Guy Foster at 987-8939. This is one of the Lions’ main fund raising events. The money is used in the community to help with the Rappahannock Athletic Association for summer sports and also supports the hearing and sight conservation van.

Queen contestants invited Any young ladies between the ages of 13-18 who would like to run for the Chester Gap Honorary Fire Chief Queen please contact Karen Williams at 635-3673 for additional information. Carnival dates are July 16-19.

Auction items needed The Chester Gap Volunteer Fire Department is asking for items that can be sold at an upcoming auction. If you have any items you would like to donate and have picked up contact either Bruce Williams at 635-4673 or Bradley Williams at 636-2627. The date for the auction will be decided later.

Dance sessions to begin A five-week dance series sponsored by the Child Care and Learning Center will begin June 5. To register or for more information call the Center at 675-3237.

Free physicals for athletes Any student who wishes to participate in the athletic program at Rappahannock County High School during the 1986-87 school year must have a current physical examination. Free physicals will be given at the high school on Monday, June 9. Boys’ physicals will be given by Dr. Einarson at 1:30 p.m. while Dr. Jerry Martin will give girls’ physicals starting at 3:30 p.m. Students should mark this date on their calendar and take advantage of this free service.

‘Lost in America’ Lost in America starring Albert Brooks, Julie Hagerty, Garry Marshall and Art Frankel will be playing at the Gay Street Theatre on May 31 and June 1. “My wife and I have dropped out of society. We’re going to roam the country finding ourselves, just like in Easy Rider,” declares Yuppie husband David as he and wife Linda set out in a Winnebago complete with microwave oven and a $145,000 nest egg. The movie tells the story of their journey. It is rated R.

Homemakers to meet The Amissville Extension Homemakers will meet on Monday, June 2, at 7:30 p.m. at the Amissville Baptist Church. The Woodville Homemakers will meet Tuesday, June 3, at 7:30 p.m. at the Woodville Baptist Church. All members and interested persons are urged to attend.
