Culpeper County High School.
Mrs. Claude Quinn made a wreath for the Culpeper Minute Men Chapter which was presented at the Memorial Day ceremony held at the National Cemetery.
Mrs. James Rumpler, chairman of the nominating committee, presented a slate of officers for the coming three years. This was accepted by the chapter and the new officers will be installed at the June meeting.
A change in by-laws was presented which affects the dues and the procedure for electing officers. The vote on changes will take place at the June meeting.
Mrs. John S. Board, Bicentennial Constitution chairman, made a motion which was carried that three units of Study of the Constitution be purchased for Culpeper, Madison and Rappahannock high school libraries at a cost of $35 each.
Mrs. D. C. Knuepfer, delegate to the Virginia DAR Convention held in Richmond, told of the awards won by the Culpeper Chapter, which included the best program on American Heritage — “Jameson Day” — and the Geneological Seminar.
Mrs. Douglas Fairfax, delegate to the National DAR Convention held in Washington, D. C., stated that the convention delegates voted to establish a Sarah M. King endowment fund, the interest of which will go into the current fund. Seven from the Culpeper Chapter attended the National Convention.
The June 10 meeting will be a luncheon meeting held at the home of Mrs. Edgar Puryear with Mrs. Philip Brewer and Mrs. William Wetsel as co-hostesses.
