permission once again to offer the community a Title I Summer Program in which all children in the county who will be entering first grade in the fall for the first time are urged to participate. The program will begin June 29 and run through July 27. The hours of the activities will be from 9 a.m. to noon.
The Amissville Homemakers will see a demonstration of salads and dressings when they meet Monday night in the educational rooms of Amissville Baptist Church.
Lord Fairfax Community College will honor 15 members of the college’s original steering committee and two others at commencement exercises to be held at 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, at the college. Those to be honored were members of the steering committe which predated the establishment of the local College Board.

Scouts and leaders in troops
from four counties in the Shenrapawa District of the Shenandoah Area Boy Scout Council camped out on the property of Mr. and Mrs. Clark Jones near Flint Hill during the weekend of May 20-22.
The Rappahannock Rapidan Planning District Commissioners gave routine approval for a discharge permit to Sperryville’s proposed sewer system at last Thursday’s meeting in Culpeper. The approval is required by the State Water Control Board to ensure that the plant complies with the District’s regional plan.
