“Beep-beep-beep. I-am-a-compu-ter. I-will-tell-you-a-bout-commu-ni-ca-tion,” said a synthesized voice in the RCES musical concert directed by Judy Bomberger.
“Thirteen years ago I started helping Mrs. Quaintance with the spring concert. When she left I carried on with a spring show. So this is my ninth year of doing them on my own,” Mrs. Bomberger explained. “I browse through music catalogs for musical shows. Sometimes I hear of what other schools have done so I get some ideas from that,” she added.
Mrs. Bomberger summarized the plot of the Grapevine Connection. “It tells about communication. It has a group of students who write a report on communication. They don’t know how to go about it. The most intelligent kid of the, group takes them to his information station which is a computer. They ask the computer questions about the history of communication. There are songs and dances that go along with each section,” she explained.
Dances included a soft shoe, an Egyptian dance, a Charleston, a blues number and a square dance. They were appropriately fitted into the script according to the period of
