Washington Masonic Lodge 78 will meet Monday, June 2, at 8 p.m. at the Washington Baptist Church. Allmembers are urged to attend.

SPTA meeting

The Rappahannock County Elementary School Student Parent Teacher Association will have its last meeting of the 1985-86 school year on Tuesday, June 3, at 7:30 p.m. in the school library. Items on the agenda include a presentation by RCES Principal Maggie Piper on line items which can be requested by the SPTA and school staff members from the school’s general fund. The SPTA will also discuss the establishment of a scholarship fund for students who cannot afford to go on field trips. Refreshments will be served in celebration of the year’s accomplishments. A special invitation is extended to all school staff to attend this meeting. Babysitting is provided for parents’ and teachers’ children.

Business Council to meet

The Washington Business Council will hold its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, June 6, at 6:15 p.m. at Brambles Cafe. All business owners in the town of Washington are invited to attend.

Bake sale

A bake sale will be held at the home of Mrs. Bessie Grigsby on Saturday, May 31, beginning at 10 a.m. The sale is sponsored by the Hopewell Baptist Choir.

Spring flower show

The Spring Flower Show will open Sunday, June 8, at Middle Street Gallery from 1 to 7 p.m. The exhibit of photography, paintings and sculpture by gallery artists will be open each weekend through June.

Legion baseball tryouts

Culpeper American Legion Post 339 will hold baseball tryouts this Saturday, May 31, at 10 a.m. at the Legion field on Rt. 229 in Culpeper.

Spring band concert

The Rappahannock County Elementary and High School bands will present their spring concert in the Elementary School auditorium on Thursday, May 29, at 7:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
