Beahm family reunion planned

All friends and relatives are invited to the third annual G. W. Beahm family reunion to be held Sunday, August 31 beginning at 9 a.m. at the Rappahannock Park on Route 211 near Washington.

Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish, beverage and table service. Coffee will be provided. A special attraction this year will be for each family to submit a favorite Beahm/Boehm/Beam recipe that has been passed on to them. For additional information direct questions to reunion organizer, Mrs. Mary Ellen Burke at 675-3535.

Double feature at Gay Street Theatre

My Little Chickadee will be playing at the Gay Street Theatre on August 23 and 24. The movie stars W.C. Fields and Mae West. This comedy western farce is the perfect vehicle for Fields and West to fire fast repartee at each other. Since Fields and Miss West both wrote their own material for this, you can be sure each wants to grab the spotlight away from the other. This movie is rated PG.

Also playing on the August 23 and 24 will be A Night at the Opera. pie Marx Brothers considered this their best film. We trust their judgment, dqn’t you? The famous “stateroom sequence” is perhaps the funniest 5 minutes in film history. These zany brothers have a terrific time (and you will too) poking fun at grand opera and at wealthy dowager Margaret Dumont in particular.

Family reunion planned

A reunion of the families of the late Thurman Wilson and Julia Thome Wilson will be held August 24 at the Castleton fire hall in Castleton. All relatives and friends are invited to attend and are asked to bring a picnic lunch. The reunion will begin about 11 a.m. Lunch will be served at 1:00.
