Kindergarten students will be screened for readiness skills at Rappahannock County Elementary School on Tuesday, August 26 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in rooms 2, 3, and 4. No appointment is necessary. Classroom assignments will be based on test results and will be available on Fee Day.
Fees will be collected and tiooks issued on Thursday, August 28 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. and from 6:008:00 p.m. The staff will break for dinner between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. Fees are the same as last year: $22.00 for grades K-3 and $32.00 for grades 4-7. Kindergarten students will be given name tags by their teachers on Fee Day. These will include the teacher’s name, the room number, the student’s name, and the number of the school bus. The students should wear these when they come to school the first few days. If parents are unable to come to school on Fee Day, they are requested to make up a name tag containing the above information and pin it to their child’s clothing the first day of school. Any parent who does not know the number of the school bus may get this information by calling the School Bus Shop at 987-8591.
The schools will open for students on Tuesday, September 2. School will be dismissed at 2:00 p.m. on the first day. Parents are strongly urged to send their children to school on the school bus the first day. Teachers, aides and administrators will be on
