Tickets are now available for the 43rd annual Waterford “Homes Tour and Crafts Exhibit” scheduled for October 3-5, in the National Historic Landmark village of Waterford, Va. The deadline for requesting advance tickets is September 15.

The festival is the oldest and one of the largest in Virginia. Last year approximately 26,000 visitors attended this nationally-recognized event.

The cost of advance tickets is $6 per person. For groups of 20 or more, the cost is $4 per person. Children 12 and under are free. A twoday ticket costs $12 and a three-day ticket is $18. At the gate, tickets will be $8 each.

The “Homes Tour and Crafts Exhibit” has selected 125 of the best craftsmen from hundreds of applicants to demonstrate their traditional crafts. Approximately ten 18th-and 19th-century private homes as well as historic Waterford Foundation buildings will be open for tour. There will be continuous traditional American music and dance throughout the village, a photo and art exhibit, and Civil and Revolutionary war encampments.

All proceeds from ticket sales are used by the non-profit Waterford B oundation for the preservation of the Waterford National Historic Landmark District.

Sgt. Moore

Air Force Chief Master Sgt. William A. Moore, son of Edna J. Moore of Flint Hill, has been decorated with the Meritorious Service Medal in Japan.

The Meritorious Service Medal is awarded specifically for outstanding non-combat meritorious achievement or service to the United States.

Moore is the base fire chief with the 175th Civil Engineering Squadron.
