duty to get them safely from the bus to the correct classrooms. Past experience has shown that children coming on the bus adjust more quickly than those coming with a parent. It also helps relieve any nervousness about going home on the bus. Any parent driving their child to school on the first day of attendance should make sure that the child’s teacher knows how the child is to go home at the end of the day and then leave promptly to ease the pain of separation.
Due to the extremely heavy work load at the beginning of the school year, no new students will be registered on Fee Day, August 28 or from Tuesday, September 2 through Thursday, September 4. Students may be registered to and after these dates. Students who have not been properly registered by a parent or guardian should not be sent to school. When they come to register, new students should bring a copy of their birth certificate, physical examination, and immunization record. The latter must be complete in accordance with State Health Department requirements. Forms for the physical examination are available at the school office. Further information may be obtained by calling the school at 987-8259 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
