Mrs. Ora Davis Cowgill of Flint Hill received a degree of Bachelor of Business Science Friday at the University of Virginia, in Charlottesville. He has accepted a position as auditor of Student Activities at the University.

Judge Rayner V. Snead of Washington was among the 140 judges from 40 states who attended an intensive four-week course in post-graduate legal education conducted by the National College of State Trial Judges in Reno, Nev. Judge Snead served the Circuit Courts of Rappahannock, Fauquier and Loudoun.

A devastating summer

storm rocked the Flint Hill and outlying area Saturday afternoon, running the gamut of rain, hail, high winds, lightning, flash flooding and power outages. A lesser storm had raged in Flint Hill the day before.

Coast Guard Quartermaster Third Class Christopher H. Kilpatrick, son of Mr. and Mrs. James J. Kilpatrick of White Walnut Hill, Woodville, has departed the Little Creek Naval Amphibious Base, Norfolk, for a weather patrol as a crew member aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Taney. He joined the Coast Guard in January 1975.
