MRS. ELEANOR DeSHAZO BROWN came to Rappahannock County from Sealston, King George County, in September 1925. She was the only teacher in the one-room schoolhouse in Gid Brown Hollow, and was a lodger in the home of John and Lillie Gore. In 1926 she married Maury Willis Brown, of the F. T. Valley. After raising seven children, she returned to teaching at the Sperryville j Elementary School and the j Washington High School, I until her retirement in the 1950s.
