The Center for Disease Control and the Virginia Department of Health recommend all two-year-old children be vaccinated. This a one time shot. Also recommended are vaccinations for all three and four-year-old children enrolled in day-care centers or pre-school. Additionally, any children between the ages of 18 months and two years who spend time in day-care should receive the vaccine.

The Rappahannock Health Department. located in the rear of the Clopton House on Gay Street in Washington, will have a special vaccination clinic on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 2 through 4, between 8 and 9:30 a.m., or by appointment.

Please call 675-3516 for more information or an appointment. There is a sliding scale charge for the vaccination, based on family income. The fee ranges from free of charge to a maximum of $6 per shot.
