Christmas bazaar
Santa will be arriving at the Child Care and Learning Center Saturday, December 6, from 10 a.m. to noon to help celebrate the Center’s first Christmas bazaar. Frank and Esther Schmidt of Franklin Photographers will be donating their skills to photograph the children with Santa (in memory of Matthias Beck). The pictures will cost $5 - each. <•’»*“ *
A Children’s Shopping Room will be available so children can shop for their families. All items will be under $1 and gift wrapped for the child.
Senior discount
cards offered
Volunteers from the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) will be offering residents of Planning District Nine who are over 60 years old the opportunity to obtain permanent Identification Cards which can be used at more than 100 local merchants and services to receive discount benefits.
The cards, which take only a few minutes to make, will be issued by volunteers on behalf of the aging program of the Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Center. A donation of $2.00 is asked for each card to help cover costs. These cards are available to all seniors in the area, with no income limitations. A listing of participating businesses is provided.
The cards will be issued on Tuesday, Dec. 2 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Community Services Center Building at 401 South Main Street in Culpeper.
Inquiries may be directed to the Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Center at 825-4242. No appointment is necessary to receive a card.
