I agree that the high school complex needs a thorough study and reorganization. There is a possibility that there will have to be an addition made to the complex. I think a workable plan should be on record before the price tag is fixed ... As supervisor, I would vote to approve a school budget that includes an appropriation for capital outlay at the high school. ”
Veteran Supervisor J.R. Latham, who had a tough fight in Jackson District and won by only a slim margin over challenger Butch Zindel, stressed his reliance on the advice of school officials regarding the high school expansion and several other points raised by the Rappahannock Citizens for Quality Education. “As for capital outlay, I know that what is needed won’t come cheap. I would like to know what we can get for $750,000 (the figure initially batted around by the school administration,)” Mr. Latham said.
