Citing the language of the Historic District Ordinance, the Architectural Review Board last Wednesday denied a Certificate of Appropriateness to the owners of The Inn at Little Washington. Patrick O’Connell and Reinhardt Lynch had sought to erect a vinyl-covered chain-link fence along the back boundary of the property, which adjoins Mrs. Irving Sisk’s lot on North Main Street.
The situation was complicated by the fact that, according to Peter Kreyling, the contractor hired to install the fence, it had been erected before he realized that it came under the provisions of the Historic District Ordinance, and therefore within the purview of the Architectural Review Board.
