Dance at Amissville
The band Crossroads will play for a dance sponsored by the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department Saturday, Nov. 29, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Proper dress is required and persons attending must be 21 years of age. For reservations or additional information call 9374357.

Clock on display at Brambles
For a small donation you could be the recipient of a Seth Thomas Grandfather Clock (retail value $1,625) to be given away Wednesday, Dec. 10, by the Rappahannock Lions Club. Holiday decorating class
A holiday decorating and wreath making class will be held Saturday, Dec. 13, from 1 to 4:30 at Faith Mountain in Sperryville.
The class will include lecture, “hands-on” workshop, and idea generating discussion. Decorations to be covered are 18th Century Williamsburg Apple Cone, Candlestick Arrangement, Kissing Ball, Herb Wreath, bow making and much more. The cost for the class is $30, including all materials. Everyone will make one wreath to take home. The class has limited enrollment, therefore advance registration is required. Parent Advisory Council to meet
The Chapter I Parent Advisory Council will meet Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. at the School Board office to review the Chapter I reading and math programs at the Rappahannock County Elementary School. All meetings are open to the public.

Tutor-training workshop set
Rappahannock Literacy Volunteers will sponsor a free tutortraining workshop Tuesday, Dec. 9, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington.
Mrs. Pattie Montgomery, reading coordinator of the Culpeper Literacy Program, will be the instructor. Pre-registration is required by Friday, Dec. 5, by calling Mrs. Penny Grant at 675-3051.
Neither teaching experience nor a college degree is necessary to become a tutor. Those attending should bring a sandwich for lunch. Dessert and a beverage will be provided.
RLEP sets public meeting
The Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection will hold a public meeting on Monday, Dec. 1, at 7:30 p.m. at the library. All citizens interested in the goals of the organization are urged to attend.

Kathleen A. Maier, PA-C, will lead a workshop on the Immune System and natural methods in prevention of colds, flus and infections Dec. 13 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Middle Street Ga,llery. In addition to these topics, she will address the vaccination issue and alternatives, techniques to enhance our natural defenses and the relationship of lymphatis to others of our ecology. The fee is $10 for early registration and $12 at the door.
Business Council to meet
The Washington Business Council will meet Thursday, Dec. 4, at 8 p.m. at Brambles. Plans for the Colonial Christmas weekend will be reviewed. All business owners in town are invited to attend. Those who wish to have dinner prior to the meeting at 7 p.m. should call Brambles for reservations.
